El Sewedy Electric Intends to Develop Wind Farm in Ghana

Egypt-based El Sewedy Electric, a manufacturer of wind farm equipment, is in talks with the Ghanaian government to develop a wind energy project in Ghana.

If the government of Ghana approves, the company will start the construction of the project in January 2011. The planned investment for the project is between $350 million and $400 million.

The wind energy plant in Ghana will be completed in three years. Apart from Ghana, El Sewedy Electric has planned to develop wind farms in Turkey, Brazil, Libya, and Pakistan. The company has planned to manufacture 300 wind towers in its Ain Sukhna plant located on the Red Sea coast, by the year 2012.
