Evergreen Solar, a Marlboro, Massachusetts- based solar PV panels manufacturing company, has chosen Hilco Industrial as its agent to manage the sale of its Devens, Massachusetts, located solar PV modules manufacturing facility. The manufacturing facility was valued over US$425 Million in 2009.
Evergreen Solar’s Devens Manufacturing facility though has a rated capability of 160 MW, the company actually produces around 180 MW worth of solar cells, solar wafers and solar panels every year. The company produces nearly 10% of the total solar manufacturing capability of the USA. The production facility is known for its perfection in three areas of manufacturing such as solar panels, cells and wafers. The high-tech manufacturing facility of the company is formulated to achieve 100% uptime. The current operations of the production facility will be closed down in a phased manner from the middle of March 2011.
According to Hilco Industrial, the sales offer will provide an exceptional opening for the companies that seek to enter into solar PV production and looking forward to having a manufacturing facility at a cheaper cost.
