Four Winds Renewable Energy offers and installs renewable energy products. The company installs off-grid and grid connected solar, and wind electric systems, solar water pumping systems, and residential backup power systems. The net metered grid-tie solar and wind electric systems use renewable solar and wind energy to reduce electric bills. The grid-tie solar electric system installed by the company is available with or without battery backup.
The grid-tie solar electric system is a grid-tie PV system that contains a range of solar modules joined together to form an array. Solar modules are designed for producing direct current (DC) electricity using solar energy. They are available in three models, namely, monocrystalline module, multicrystalline module and amorphous module. The solar array can be installed on the ground, pole top mounts or on a roof. It captures sunlight and produces DC electricity. This grid-tie system incorporates a utility-grade inverter to convert the DC power into alternating current (AC) to match the voltage and frequency of the utility-line electricity.
The electricity generated by the grid-tie solar electric system is transferred into an electric service panel and combines with the utility power in the home. When the PV system generates more energy, the excess energy can be transferred to the utility grid. This solar electric system is equipped with safety switches to disconnect the PV system from the utility line.
