Nevada Geothermal Power has restarted its operations in the Faulkner 1 power plant. A temporary solution to resume operations in the plant has enabled the company to restart two of three generators, but at reduced levels of output. Due to engineering considerations related to the interim repair plan, the output has been limited to 13 MW. The plant is expected to operational fully by March, after the permanent repair plan is completed.
Production Well 91-15 has been drilled by the company and slotted liner up to 8315 ft has been installed. The output levels of the well is being determined by the company at present. Other development works for the well 91-15 such as pump installation, construction of pipeline and electric power hook-up is anticipated to be completed after several months.
The construction of the pipeline connecting power plant to the new injection well 55-15 has been completed by the company, which will result in increased output from the plant during its full operations. The company is expecting to complete the pipeline connection of the injection well 58-11 and put it into operation in several weeks.
The output levels of the Faulkner 1 plant is expected to reach about 45 MW (net) when all the wells 55-15, 91-15, and 58-11 that were recently completed are connected to the plant. The company already has adequate funds for this work.
