Nevada Geothermal Power announced that the interim power generation at the Faulkner 1 geothermal plant has been increased from 13 megawatts (net) to 26 megawatts (net). This has been achieved after permanent cables to Unit One and Unit Three turbine generators have been installed. Before March 10, 2010, cable repairs to Unit Two including other electrical equipment are expected to be completed enabling the geothermal plant to operational fully.
Newly drilled deep injection wells, 58-11 and 55-15, have been tested and will enable production levels of the plant to be increased to between 36 megawatts (net) and 40 megawatts (net) soon after the resumption of full service at the Faulkner 1 plant.
Currently, new production well 91-15 that has been drilled to a depth of 8359 feet is undergoing flow tests. Other development works such as electrical service and production pipeline connections will require about 2 ˝ months to complete. By June 30, 2010, the output of the plant is anticipated to be greater than 40 megawatts (net).
