Commercial Operation of the 1.8 megawatt (DC) Belle Mead Solar Project was announced by enXco, an EDF Energies Nouvelles Company. The solar system located on the grounds of Carrier Clinic in Belle Mead, New Jersey, is expected to supply 50 percent of the electrical needs of Carrier Clinic under a power purchase agreement for 25 years.
This project is the largest ground-mount system owned and operated by enXco to date and is also regarded as the largest solar array on a New Jersey healthcare system campus. It is constructed on approximately 14 acres of land.
Peter Solomon, Director of distributed solar for enXco, remarked that enXco has achieved the completion of its fifth solar energy development in New Jersey through the Belle Mead Solar Project during the year 2009. The company is planning to develop partnerships with other New Jersey based businesses in the year 2010 because of its constant commitment to reduce the energy costs of these businesses. The company’s combined effort in developing this project has led to the development of cost-effective energy solutions, cost benefits for clients and high value designs.
