Journal of the Energy Institute Free to Access from July 1 to August 15

Maney Publishing’s Journal of the Month in July 2010 is the Journal of the Energy Institute. In conjunction with this initiative, the Energy Institute (EI) is hosting a survey to review the use of peer-reviewed articles and journal usage across the energy industry.

The Journal of the Energy Institute is the official journal of the Energy Institute and has been published by Maney since 2005. The journal provides peer-reviewed coverage of original high quality research on energy engineering and technology. Editor of the Journal, Professor Paul Williams (Director of the Energy and Resources Research Institute, Leeds University, UK) stated: 'Providing free access to recent papers will enable the energy sector to review some of the latest scientific thinking on a range of key industry topics. The Journal is an essential platform for sharing research, enabling the energy community to collaborate and develop new theories and technologies quickly and efficiently. This activity is key if we are to meet international targets in carbon reduction and maintain a secure supply of energy.'

Recent articles in the Journal of the Energy Institute have focused on combustion engineering, biofuels, carbon capture and storage and clean coal technology. The journal is indexed in ISI Web of Science and achieved a category B rating in the recent Australian Research Council journal ranking exercise, recognised indicators that the Journal has a solid reputation and publishes a number of high quality papers.

'This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in the groundbreaking energy research to explore what the Journal of the Energy Institute has to offer', said Martin Maeso (Technical Director of the Energy Institute). 'The EI considers the publication of peer-reviewed content as absolutely vital in order to ensure that emerging energy technologies and practices are based upon sound science. We therefore encourage anyone who views the free articles as part of this initiative to assist us in developing this area of professional practice further, by participating in the EI Journal survey.'

Three years of Journal of the Energy Institute content will be available to view free of charge, from 1 July to 15 August 2010, on IngentaConnect (direct link: http://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/maney/eni)
