PSE+G Planning to Invest $140 Million in its Trenton Solar Farm

Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G), a gas and electric end point providing utility company, has announced the commencement of its Trenton Solar Farm construction work.

This is one of the four ground mounted solar farms intended by the company as a part of its ‘Solar 4 All’ program. The state regulating authority has approved the Solar 4 All program of PSE&G last July. The total Solar 4 All program is planned with a total investment of over $515 million to produce 80 MW of solar power.

In its Trenton Solar Farm, PSE&G anticipates making an investment of over $140 million to produce an annual output of 30 MW power and provide job opportunities to 300 people. This solar farm is planned to have a total of 5.496 solar panels spanning an area of 5.5 acres of land owned by PSE&G. The electricity produced at the farm will be fed in to the grid directly. The amount of electric produced at this facility is enough to power the air conditioning and lighting facilities of about 207 homes. For its Trenton Solar farm, PSE&G is availing the services of SunEdison, a renowned company, to complete the project.

The other solar farms being developed by PSE&G on its own properties include Edison 2 MW, Linden 3.2 MW and Hamilton 4.4 MW. The company is planning to install crystalline solar panel technology in all its four farms along with easy networking and monitoring facility. PSE&G is currently serving six cities in the state and more than 300 communities living in rural and suburban areas.
