ABB, an automation and power technology group, will display its latest technologies at the upcoming Cigré event during August 23-27, 2010 in Paris. These technologies have its focus on grid reliability, energy efficiency along with the evolution of more flexible and smarter grids.
This power technology gathering is a biennial event that serves as a platform for discussing technologies, trends as well as future developments. The event is expected to draw about 3,000 participants.
While the demand for electricity and energy continues to grow, there is also an increasing urgency for addressing environmental issues. ABB is also participating in numerous pilot studies on smarter power systems that make use of wind and solar energy.
The company’s smart grid technologies provide software solutions in the field of energy forecasting, charging infrastructures and demand management solutions for electric vehicles along with network management systems as well as high-efficiency transmission systems and power quality devices.
