Catch the Wind Signs Evolution Agreement with AWS Convergence

Catch the Wind Ltd, a product building and manufacturing company occupied in the production of laser wind sensor (LWS), Vindicator and other types of wind sensor products, has undertaken a six month evaluation agreement with AWS Convergence Technologies, a company that owns and operates WeatherBug, a Professional brand of specialized weather products and services.

As per the clauses of the agreement, AWS will utilize the services of its WeatherBug Professional division to set up a Vindicator(R) LWS unit at a location that is yet to be decided to test its wind proofing and wind speed measuring potentials. As explained by John Bosse, WeatherBug Professional’s Director of Energy Services, the company has developed a weather profiling technology for use in wind energy applications and others. He added that the observations provided by his company can improve the wind farm functions and particularly help them in improving their temporary wind and power forecasts.

He added that the trial project matches with their intention of offering important wind information services to the wind industry, He added that while his company will continue to focus on improving the productivity of wind energy, the developed wind sensing technology will provide precise wind speed and course details during extreme weather conditions. He added that the currently developed applications will offer real-time wind statistics that can be exploited in weather forecasting for improved local and global wind mapping to assess wind energy in wind turbine construction decisions.
