Adobe Systems Incorporated will further go green with the completion of Bloom Energy fuel cell installation by Bloom Energy Corporation.
The biggest commercial installation will allow Adobe to meet nearly one third of the power supply requirement of its headquarters located in San Jose.
Bloom Energy Corporation has installed 12 numbers of Bloom Energy Servers also called as Bloom boxes on the 5th floor of Adobe’s headquarters. Each such server big enough to occupy an average car parking area incorporates thousands of bloom fuel cells and flat type firm ceramic squares prepared from sand-like fine particles which can alter air and biogas into electric power through a hygienic electrochemical procedure without carbon emissions. Each server can produce enough electricity to supply power to 100 average US houses or small building housing offices.
Adobe is the first commercial company that has already earned four platinum certifications under the LEED program. Earlier during December 2009 the company had installed 20 Windspire wind turbines. The company competently produces enough green power to meet its requirements. Randall H. Knox, III, Adobe’s Global Workplace Solutions Senior Director, said that by the installation of Bloom Energy fuel cells the company persists in the usage of clean technologies to lessen the carbon foot print. He further said that his company wishes to be a model for others to consider the use of cleaner, greener renewable energy sources in their day to day usages.
