Voith Hydro to Supply Generators and Turbines for Two Hydro Projects in China

Voith Hydro, a joint venture of Siemens and Voith, declared that it has received two orders from two Chinese utility companies for hydro power projects in China.

The orders will enable China to increase its eco-friendly power generation capability by 1,880 MW. The order will require the company to supply generators for the Yan Tan extension project and turbines for a new hydro power plant at Yang Qu. The total value of the two contracts is estimated to be around 40 million Euros.

Da Tang YanTan Hydro Power has signed an accord with Voith Hydro for the supply of generators for its presently existing power generation plant Yan Tan placed at the Hongshui River located in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Voith will provide generators for its two 340 MW power generation units.

The Huanghe Hydro Power Development has placed an order with Voith for the supply of three Francis turbines each with a power production capability of 400 MW for use at its Yang Qu hydro project over Yellow River.
