Zipcar, a network for sharing cars, and American Honda Motor, a renowned vehicle manufacturer, have declared that Honda has now become the preferred car manufacturer for Zipcar. The members of Zipcar will use the low emission, state-of-the-art vehicles from Honda that provide more sustainability to existing transitional services.
As per the contract, Honda will expand its Insight hybrid, which is the latest CR-V compact SUV; the launch of Fit EV battery electric vehicle (BEV), and a plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) version of Accord Sedan, the Accord Plug-In Sedan, in early 2013 at specific locations of Zipcar.
The new 2012 Honda CR-V, which can accommodate five passengers, has an engine designed for fuel efficiency, regular technology functions and features, and stylish exterior look. The Honda Insight hybrid vehicle also has an aerodynamically stylish and sleek look and enhances fuel economy.
Honda is aiming to offer 123 city-miles per charge for its 2013 Fit EV. In addition, the vehicle batteries can be recharged in three hours when a 240 V circuit is used.
A new two-motor hybrid system has been used in 2013 Honda Accord PHEV. This system operates in three modes that include direct driving, gasoline and electric driving, and fully electric driving with 15 miles per charge. This option increases fuel efficiency and maximizes driving experience.
Zipcar is a perfect platform for these Honda vehicles, since it helps technically skilled drivers of urban area to know more about the novel technology used in these cars and to share their experiences with others.
