SolarEdge Introduces New Solar Inverters and Extended Voltage Power Optimizers

Published on May 8, 2012 at 2:56 AM

By Cameron Chai

SolarEdge Technologies, a company specializing in photovoltaic monitoring and solar power optimization systems, has unveiled the OP400-EV, an extended voltage power optimizer capable of supporting a wide range of solar modules, and 15 kW, 16 kW and 17 kW three-phase solar inverters.

SolarEdge Technologies has expanded its three phase solar inverter portfolio for large commercial and residential markets with the launch of the 15kW, 16kW and 17kW inverters. The new inverters are ideal for commercial systems and have all advantages of their earlier models, including lightweight, tiny size, superior safety, easy installation, and optimal efficiency of 98%. Their flexible design enables for longer string installation and reduces BoS expenditures.

With high power rating of up to 400 W and voltage of up to 125 Vdc, the OP400-EV can support a broad array of solar modules. SolarEdge Technologies’ power optimizers monitor each module’s maximum power point in order to prevent power losses caused by module mismatch. They track each module’s performance to result in lower maintenance expenditures. They feature the novel SafeDC to shut down the voltage of modules automatically whenever grid power or inverter is switched off.

SolarEdge Technologies’ Vice President Product Strategy and Business Development, Lior Handelsman stated that extended benefits and faster return on investment offered by the company’s products and solutions have increased their demand in the commercial photovoltaic market. The company is happy to offer its unique solutions to customers across the globe, Handelsman concluded.
