Mittel, an energy technology company, and Moss Isolasjonsservice, a provider of insulation products and services, have inked a strategic partnership to introduce Mittel TSC, an advanced welding technology from Mittel, in Norway.

Mittel, a key player in providing district energy solutions in the northern European region, aims at expanding its reach in other parts of the world. Recently, the company entered into a similar deal with MPEC Olsztyn of Poland.

The Mittel TSC system, Mittel’s innovative joint weld technology of district energy pipes, will enable Moss Isolasjonsservice to build and repair district energy pipes for customers across Norway using Mittel’s modular welding muffs. The welding technology for case jointing of welding sleeves with pre-insulated pipes produces stronger and long-lasting joints that can withstand corrosion caused by wear, pressure and damp, thus minimizing energy losses and need for repairs.

As per the agreement, Moss Isolasjonsservice will get access to use Mittel’s TSC welding system and its technicians will be certified to perform the installations utilizing the system. Mittel will also help Moss Isolasjonsservice in developing its own workshop to produce customized plastic fittings for use in the TSC method.

Moss Isolasjonsservice’ Project Manager, Robert Kraft stated that the partnership will enable the company to get access to Mittel’s breakthrough technology to construct and repair district heating systems existing in the marketplace.

Mittel’s Chief Executive Officer, Karl-Gunnar Appelblad stated that the company, which has a strong presence in the Nordic countries, develops advanced tools to construct and maintain district energy systems and to detect leaks in the energy system networks.
