Siemens Assists Red Robin’s Initiatives to Cut Energy Cost

The Building Technologies Division of Siemens has been chosen by Red Robin Gourmet Burgers to implement the Siemens Site Controls Energy Management Systems (EMS) in 40 Red Robin restaurants as a measure to reduce energy cost.

The partnership was a success with EMS-controlled Red Robin sites reducing energy consumption ranging from 9 % to 15 %.

The efficient track record of Siemens in dealing with numerous restaurant and retail locations, flexible site-level capabilities, enterprise dashboards, cloud-hosted data unit, and reliable client support services, made the Siemens Site Controls Systems the ideal choice for Red Robin. Based on the amount of energy saved after a pilot program, which was conducted in 2011 by Red Robin for three of its restaurants, a third phase of Siemens Site Controls Systems installations was launched.

General Manager for Siemens Retail and Commercial Systems, Marcus Boerkei stated that being chosen by Red Robin after a stringent selection process ratifies the advantages of its Site Controls system, and promotes the ability of Siemens systems across the country via Red Robin restaurants. The company plans on providing continued support to the restaurant chain in its sustainability and energy saving ventures, he added.

Siemens provides advanced technologies to companies to deal with a variety of applications, such as air conditioning, lighting, ventilation, and heating in an efficient manner and to ensure the comfort levels of both the customers as well as the employees.
