Stirling Energy Systems has designed a solar Stirling dish engine technology known as the SunCatcher technology. The SunCatcher solar dish Stirling system has the capability to generate a maximum power of 25 kilowatts. The technology utilized in this system works without using any fuel and also requires less water when compared to other solar technologies. This solar dish Stirling system, which converts the solar energy into grid electricity, comprises different components such as a boom, a facet support structure, a pedestal, mirror facets, a power conversion unit and drives.
The solar dish Stirling system from Stirling Energy Systems incorporates a radial solar concentrator dish structure that can be fixed on an array of mirror facets. The concentrator dish functions by tracking the path of sun and collecting the solar energy as well as concentrating it onto the power conversion unit. This unit, coupled along with a Stirling engine, helps to generate grid electricity. The SunCatcher solar dish Stirling system also consists of three specialized controllers that help to optimize the performance of the system.
The SunCatcher solar dish Stirling system has a plug and play design that facilitates easy installation. This cost effective system from Stirling Energy Systems operates on all kinds of terrains and can be installed on sloping areas with a 5 per cent grade.
