This solar area light is available with different lamp options such as fluorescent lamps, HID lamps, LEDs and low pressure sodium lamps. The solar panels of this solar light are made of monocrystalline or multicrystalline PV cells and feature a strong aluminum frame, tempered glass front and tedlar backing.

The solar area light is equipped with a system controller that features pulse width modulation charging, battery charging regulation and 12 volt DC regulation. The solar light, offered by National Solar Technologies, has a non-spillable sealed lead acid battery that requires no maintenance. The operating life of this battery ranges from 5 to 7 years. The battery is enclosed in a powder coated steel enclosure that is resistant to corrosion. A stainless steel or aluminum battery enclosure is also available. The battery enclosure is vented to provide heat dissipation and airflow.
