Trina Solar Subsidiary Partners with Enfinity on Solar Modules

A subsidiary of Trina Solar Limited, Changzhou Trina Solar Energy Co. Ltd has partnered with a developer of renewable energy sources Enfinity NV to provide modules for the rooftops of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo’s Theme Pavilion and the Belgian-European Pavilion. Trina Solar Limited is a solar photovoltaic (PV) product manufacturer that produces wafers, cells and ingots and also assembles PV modules.

The Belgian-European Pavilion will have an integrated solar system with 160 kW capacity having around 690 modules of Trina Solar Limited covering 1,200 m2 in area. The system is likely to produce around 116,000 kWh of electrical energy and offset around 87 tons of CO2 emissions and coal consumption of 39 tons per year.

Enfinity’s CEO for the Asia Pacific region Van Neer commented that the Shanghai World Expo provides an opportunity for people to gain knowledge about the importance of renewable and solar energy.
