One of the most crucial aspects of this process is monitoring the performance ratio (PR). It is important to begin this process correctly and use the appropriate techniques to measure the effectiveness of a solar project.

Performance Ratio Challenges

The performance ratio is typically understood as a comparison between the final (actual) yield and the reference (design) yield.

Performance ratios for a specific solar energy project are varied, theoretical and actual. These are generally related to different phases of the project, for example, its design, installation, commissioning, contractual agreements and operation.

Many factors will also influence the calculated outcome, including environmental conditions and the choice of components.
