In an exclusive video, Nils Gjelsten, CEO of Nikkelverk, highlights Nel’s technology and how nickel is always present in our daily lives.
“Nel’s technology is robust, reliable, and long-tested. It’s an easy choice for us due to its energy efficiency and our familiarity with its operation,” adds Nils G. Gjelsten.
The facility’s hydrogen, created by Nel’s electrolyzer, is used not only in nickel refining and production but also in hydrochloric acid. This process has long been a part of its operations.
A Century of Nickel Production
Nickel is everywhere, from our flatware to the mobile phones and laptops that keep us connected. Since its beginnings in 1910, the Nikkelverk facility has served the local population and played a significant role in worldwide enterprises.
"Hydrogen is an important input factor in our processes, and very high reliability is required. Nikkelverk has produced Hydrogen for internal use for more than 60 years. We are pleased to continue a long relationship with Nel and their well-proven and reliable alkaline electrolyzers," says Nils G. Gjelsten.
