The SHP1 pyrheliometer available from Kipp & Zonen combines the CHP 1 sensor technology with smart interface benefits. The smart interface provides versatile outputs; the digital polynomial and the integrated temperature sensor provide individual correction for the temperature sensitivity of the detector from -40°C to +70°C.
The standardised output and enhanced response time make it easy to interchange instruments for recalibration. The Modbus protocol provides a range of instrument status and configuration data, with user-selectable options.
SHP1 pyrheliometers consume very minimum power so that internal heating does not impact the performance of the detector. The units can be operated from different supply voltages, thus making them suitable for power-critical applications. All the inputs and outputs are protected against over voltage, reversed polarity, and short-circuits.
The SHP1 pyrheliometer comes in two versions, one includes an analogue output of 0-1V, and the other is 4-20mA. Both versions feature a 2-wire RS-485 interface with Modbus (RTU) protocol. Modbus interfaces directly to PLCs, RTUs, SCADA systems, and industrial controllers and networks. The SHP1 is supplied with a traceable, calibration certificate.
