Water Chemistry Analysis (Trace Analysis)

Trace Analysis is the chemical analytical determination of less than 0.01 percent of elements and compounds and carried out on samples with weights from fractions of a microgram to several grams and is expressed not as a percentage of weight but in parts per million (ppm). Water chemistry analyses are carried out to identify and quantify the chemical components and properties from samples of water focusing on pH, major cations and anions, trace elements and isotopes. Water chemistry analysis is used when determining the interaction water may have with its environment and lays the foundations for studies of water quality, pollution, hydrology and geothermal waters.
