N90 2.5 Megawatt Wind Turbine Provided by Nordex

Nordex can supply the N90 2.5 MW wind turbine which incorporates a variable speed single blade adjustment and has a rated power of 2500 kW. The upwind type rotor utilized in this wind turbine has a diameter of 90 m and features active rotor blade adjustment and variable speed.

This wind turbine is offered in 70, 75, 80, 100, and 120 m hub heights. The three blades incorporated in the rotor are made of glass fibre reinforced polyester with lightening protection. The swept area offered by the wind turbine is 6382 m², the speed range of the turbine is 9.6–16.8 rpm and the tip speed of the wind turbine is approximately 70 m/s. Each blade of this rotor can be locked separately by utilizing the incorporated locking system.

The nacelle of this N90 2.5 wind turbine is provided out with a two-stage planetary gearbox with one spur-gear stage or differential gear box. This wind turbine model incorporates an aerodynamic and hydraulic disc brake for stopping the turbine. The nacelle yaw of this model is continuously and dynamically adjusted by utilizing four geared motors. The turbine is provided with two anemometers for monitoring and controlling functions.
