Practice Greenhealth, a national organization meant for healthcare institutions committed to environmentally-friendly practices has given an Environmental Excellence Award to Washington Hospital. In recognition of the achievements of Washington Hospital, the “Partner for Change Award” has been presented.
Those achievements include the development of programs intended for preventing pollution, eliminating mercury, reducing and recycling solid wastes, reducing energy and water consumption as well as establishing “green” purchasing policies.
