American Biofuels Now Looks at Homegrown Biofuel Solutions

American Biofuels Now has been formed under a broad coalition consisting of academics, trading firms, environmental organizations, local biofuels producers as well as energy users who need comprehensive and smart policies for supporting the development and growth of American Biofuels Now.

The coalition is in need of a homegrown solution for reducing America’s dependence upon foreign oil. In America, energy can be recycled or grown from waste to biofuels which can then be moved through the existing pipelines or can also be shipped with the bio-fuel powered engines. Transportation accounts for 71% of the total U.S. petroleum consumption.

The vehicles that we rely upon for moving people as well as goods are 95% solely dependent upon petroleum. Rather than switching over to a totally new energy system, there is a need for leveraging the current transportation fuels infrastructure which is already set up for the usage of liquid energy. Thus biofuels represent a simple and clear pathway for energy independence.
