Wattner Group Secures Ownership of Solar Park Near Leipzig

Germany-based Wattner Group, an energy investment company, declared that it has secured the ownership of the biggest solar park in Germany. The solar park with power production capability of 12 MW is situated about a few kilometers away from the airport of Leipzig.

The solar power park located in around 33 hectares of plot in an industrial zone, which can be compared to an area of over 40 soccer playing fields will incorporate crystalline solar modules provided by IBC Solar and BP Solar. Each company will provide 50% of the solar module requirements of the farm. The zoning plan for the farm has been drawn before to enable the solar farm to receive higher rate for the power generated from the farm.

Ulrich Uhlenhut, Wattner’s Managing Director, figures that the company will attain an investment volume of 250 million Euros in the next 12 months. He added that with its new level of solar financing, his company has plans to invest in politically stabilized European Union countries and is carrying on assessments over countries such as England and Canada for lucrativeness of investments.
