Flex Introduces Renewable Energy Storage Solution

Flex, the Sketch-to-Scale™ solutions company that designs and constructs intelligent products for a connected world, has increased its contributions to the renewable energy sector. It has launched energy storage solutions to resolve the challenge of combining solar and wind power into the energy grid.

Advanced Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are key assets that complement the growth of the renewable energy sector. They store energy when production surpasses demand and offer services, such as frequency control, to the grid.

The Flex solution is a versatile, standardized energy storage system for industrial, utility, and commercial users. Supporting many cell technologies, and designed to make the best use of energy and power density of BESS deployments, the system is designed to adhere to the exacting standards of the industry. It also provides maximum levels of safety and security.

In designing our energy storage solution, we stressed ease-of-installation, minimizing complexity and facilitating rapid deployments. By introducing a standardized, cost-effective and easily-deployed solution, we are enabling wide-scale implementation, with the hopes of further stimulating growth of the renewable energy industry.

Scott Graybeal, senior vice president of Flex Energy Solutions.

In association with Renewable Energy Systems (RES) – one of the leading battery energy storage integrators and renewable energy companies in North America – Flex has finished the first successful deployment of an energy storage solution for the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) at its National Wind Technology Center (NWTC) in Boulder, Colorado.
