Suzlon Energy offers different models of wind turbines that include S82, S88, S64, S66 and S52. The S52 wind turbine generates a power of 600 kilowatts at a wind speed of 13 meters per second. It has a survival wind speed of 59.5 meters per second, while the cut-off and cut-in wind speed of the S52 wind turbine are 4 meters per second and 25 meters per second respectively. This turbine can be installed on lattice towers available in a hot dip galvanized finish with an overall tower height of 73 meters. The hub height of the tower inclusive of the foundation is approximately 75 meters.
S52 Wind Turbine
The S52 wind turbine has a three independent blade pitch control system that operates in the temperature ranging from -5 degrees centigrade to +90 degrees centigrade. The resolution of this pitch system varies between 0.1 degree and 10 degrees. The Suzlon Control System incorporated in the wind turbine from Suzlon Energy comprises features such as weather measurement, time synchronization, power output control, grid measurement and statistics.
The wind turbine from Suzlon Energy has an electrical yaw motor with polyamide slide bearings. The proximity and cable twist sensors function as yaw protection units. The S82 wind turbine consists of a single speed induction generator that produces a power of 600 kilowatts at a rated voltage of 690 volt AC. This generator operates at a speed of 1,539 rotations per minute. The gearbox of the turbine comprises two helical stages and one planetary stage. The turbine has a rotor diameter of 52 meters and consists of rotor blades made of epoxy bonded fiber glass.
