Fortis America offers the Passaat Wind Turbine manufactured by Fortins Wind Energy. This wind turbine is equipped with a synchronous generator utilizing a three phase permanent magnet. The Passaat Wind Turbine is provided in different voltage models such as 24 V dc, 48 VDc and single phase grid applications.

The maintenance free Passaat Wind Turbine provided by Fortis America has fiberglass reinforced expoxy blades and is available in pole sizes of 12.18 m. The diameter of the rotor used in the wind turbine measures 3.12 m. This module is designed to offer an annual yield of 3.2 MWh at 6 m/s manufactured by Fortins Wind Energy.
The safety system used in the Passaat wind turbine is developed the Hinged Vane. The safety system is designed to turn the rotor in a gradual manner out of the wind during adverse wind conditions. To meet the exegencies of power problem the wind turbine uses a short circuit system. The wind turbine has an estimated life period of 20 years.
