Southwest Windpower Whisper 500 Wind Turbine from Wise Power Systems

Wise Power Systems provides the Southwest Windpower manufactured Whisper 500, a medium-sized small wind turbine. This utility model is designed to produce 500 kWh of power per month at 5.4 m/s wind speed to meet the energy requirements of a home. The Whisper 500 wind turbine has welded steel and powder coated body. This model comprises two carbon reinforced fiberglass blades with side-furling over speed protection. The angle-governor used in the blades allows the blades to spin and produce energy even in high winds.

The Whisper 500 wind turbine model provided by Wise Power Systems has a rotor with 4.5 m diameter and weighs 70 kg. The rotor is mounted on a 5 in schedule 12.7 cm pipe. This model is available in voltage ratings 24, 36 and 48 VDC and optional higher voltage systems are also available. This wind turbine has a rated power output of 3000 W at 10.5 m/s and a peak power of 3200 W at 12 m/s.

The Whisper 500 wind turbine is equipped with a controller and a diversion load facility for quite trouble free working of the turbine even during the change of batteries. The controller used in the turbine can be easily accommodated in sa battery room. An optional LCD display combined with an anemometer allows remote monitoring of the wind turbine operations.
