OSN to Host Event on Challenges and Opportunities for Farmers

On June 22, 2010, at The Hilton located in London, Ontario, a special event will be hosted by Ontario Solar Network (OSN) that will see the gathering of potential solar stakeholders and industry professionals to discuss about the important challenges and opportunities faced by people when seeking the novel Feed-In-Tariff (FIT) incentives of the government.

The event will start off with introductory presentation providing information on the overview of microFIT and FIT programs of Ontario. Farmers, urban and rural property owners can ask questions and clarify doubts regarding the solar programs of the province.

With around 60,000 farms, the agricultural sector of Ontario signifies a huge market for renewable power. Jacob Travis, the Chairman and event organizer of OSN, opined that farmers attending this event will be able to distinguish between the numerous solar systems currently being offered in the market and the various financing options.

The event features one hour of panel discussions and a two-hour session for exhibitors to network with each other.

Various solar industry experts will make presentations at this event including Dave Egles, HES Home Energy Solutions’ CEO; Phil Winters, EGen Power’s CEO; Ian Karleff, AS Solar GMBH’s MD in Canada; Jaret Henhoeffer, Penguin Power’s CEO; and Aryn Strand, Sustainable Energy Technologies’ Business Development Director.
