The Centinela Solar Energy facility expected to be completed during the year 2014 will transfer the produced solar power to other SDG&E service locations by utilizing the proposed Sunrise Powerlink, a newly laid 500 kW 120 mile power transmission line designed to augment the consistency of power in the region and to exploit the renewable energy resources from the imperial valley of California. The new power line expected to completed in the year 2012 will carry up to 1,000 MW power load.

The newly signed to contract will enable the Centinela Solar Energy facility to deploy PV technology in a 1350 acre solar farm located near Calexico California and produce a peak output of 175 MW solar power. The contract ends during the year 2034.
