Everyday Energy to Install Solar Power for Multi-Family Affordable Solar Housing Project in San Diego

Everyday Energy, a company engaged in financing, designing and selling of solar PV modules and installation of solar projects for government, not for profit, business and multi-family usages, declared that it has finished the installations for the Phase II of a Multi-family Affordable Solar Housing (MASH) venture located at the Hacienda Town homes, in downtown San Diego.

The present project is the third such installation completed by the company during this year. The company has provided Solar Service Agreement (SSA) in its earlier projects developed for the San Diego Community Housing Corporation (SDCHC) and allowed the not for profit companies solar power generation facility with little or no initial investments.

The company has contracted an accord to commence the erection of four addition MASH projects valued around 657 kW this year. The company works in close liaison with San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E), California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE) SDCHC, and the Oceanside, California, to provide low-income inhabitants the gains of utilizing solar energy. The MASH program, a proposal of the California Solar Initiative (CSI), offers discounts on erection costs for the buildings that qualify under the program. The installed solar facility at the Hacienda Town homes, in downtown San Diego, will generate around 86,000 kWh of clean energy every year and the incorporated net metering system with SDG and E will bring benefits of the installation directly to low income home owners and to the not for profit companies.

According to Scott Sarem, Everyday Energy’s CEO, the Phase II project in addition to reducing the energy spending by the low income house owners and not for profit companies will also reduce 1,400 tons of carbon dioxide discharges in a period of 25 years or around 300 pounds every day, which can be compared to planting of 50,000 tree saplings or running a small car for approximately 5 million miles.
