DUNMORE, a global supplier of engineered coated and laminated films, is supplying solar PV module backsheets to US-based Advanced Solar Photonics (ASP). ASP produces crystalline silicon solar PV modules for residential, commercial and utility applications. It owns a state-of-the art manufacturing facility in Orlando, Florida, which has an annual production capacity of 100 MW.
ASP selected DUNMORE as it can offer backsheets in a wide range of widths. In addition, ASP was able to determine that these backsheets meet its requirements and support rapid production of modules through DUNMORE's solar programs like SmoothStart. The solar module backsheets offer long-term durability and high performance. In addition, they secure solar module circuitry from the external elements and protect workers from current. The backsheets also eliminate current leakage from modules and thus prevent impact on ASP’s productivity.
The backsheets from DUNMORE will be delivered to several solar projects across North America, including the first phase of the Lake County, Florida-based Sorrento Solar Farm project.
John Jordon, VP of DUNMORE, remarked that their backsheets have been fabricated to help businesses like ASP to attain reliable performance from their modules for 20, 25 or 30 years.
ASP currently focuses on developing innovative high-efficiency solar PV modules in the range of 200-400 W based on advanced encapsulation, light transmission and cell efficiency technologies.
