Marking the Earth Day, Longhorn Solar pronounced a special solar rebate that will benefit the National Instruments employees across Austin Energy's service territory up to May 31, 2012. The rebates will be demonstrated during the National Instruments Home & Garden Expo on April 19, 2012.
NI and its employees operate throughout Austin, focused on green technology features. NI can have better control over solar power production. In addition, it can host green community outreach campaigns to promote solar power production statistics among its marketing teams. In order to demonstrate the company’s sustainable efforts, NI teams can insert fact and figures in their yearly report.
Besides the existing Austin Energy rebate of $2.50/W, Longhorn Solar further provides a corporate solar rebate of $0.50/W. This initiative will promote solar use. NI employees will benefit from the 30% federal tax credit, through which NI can offset its 2012 tax liability.
The 6-kW solar power array costs just $3,517, exclusive of rebates and tax incentives. The solar system will produce 8,400 kWhs of solar electricity per year. This is equivalent to the value of $810 per year at Austin Energy's present retail electricity rate, which amounts to $0.0965 cents per kWh. Furthermore, the cost-efficiency will be increased following the approval of the proposed 12.8% increase in rate by Austin Energy.
Longhorn Solar presents corporate buying programs to the entire line of Austin-based businesses. In addition, it hosts free community outreach programs and solar training seminars that will benefit area HOAs, home builders, property management companies, schools, businesses. It also enables the green teams of local government to promote awareness among the general public about the energy-and cost-efficiency features of solar.
