Residential Geothermal Projects Developed by Smart-Energy

Smart-Energy offers solutions to meet the energy needs of customers. Smart-Energy provides system design and installation services for geothermal projects and it has designed and installed more than 500 systems. One of the residential geothermal projects carried out by Smart-Energy has received the Efficiency Vermont Energy Star award. The company provided guidance based on the Energy Star guidelines for a home, constructed in Waterbury Center energy, to be energy efficient.

For their residential geothermal project, the Brewers approached Smart-Energy to evaluate the initial investment. Smart-Energy helped them to install the geothermal system, which was a forced air system. This forced air system included an additional filter to purify the air and to remove contaminants, such as dust, animal dander and pollen. This residential home had central air conditioning throughout.

The geothermal system installed at Brewers used the drilled water well as the fuel tank.  The drilled water well is utilized for all domestic purposes. The Brewers have no wood stove, fireplace or chimney flue in their home and they require no wood burning to keep them warm in winter. The geothermal heating and cooling system installed in the Brewers home produces no carbon monoxide, soot, hydrocarbons, smoke and thermal pollutions.
