Bioethanol for Sustainable Transport Project Established by ETA-Florence Renewable Energies

ETA-Florence Renewable Energies has a range of ongoing projects related to the biomass industry. Some of these include BEST, PHYDADES, PROCURA and BIOPROS. The BEST biomass project is also known as the Bioethanol for Sustainable Transport project and has been partnered and co-financed by the European Commission. Some of the other ethanol producing partners of this project include Sekab, Wessex Grain and Royal Nedalco.

The project has introduced a total of ten flexi-fuel vehicles for use in the municipal fleets. ETA-Florence Renewable Energies has also set up a number of pumps in this project – two pumps for the E85 and one pump for the E95. Also, a total of three buses that run on E95 have been bought for the benefit of this project. The BEST project also aims at conducting a range of awareness campaigns and information sessions regarding the use and benefits of biomass.

Other aims of the BEST project established by ETA-Florence Renewable Energies include the research and development of a bioethanol system for the purpose of production and distribution. The project also allows citizens and private enterprises to buy a total of 90 flexi-fuel vehicles. The project also has to keep a keen watch on the acceptance of these flexi-fuel vehicles by the public.
