These numbers may be soon taking a tumble as ETH Zurich student Jeremy Nussbaumer has developed a filter for purifying water faster and cheaper than ever possible in the past.

Clean technology is any product or service that harnesses renewable materials and energy sources, eliminates emissions and wastes, reduces the use of natural resources, and enhances the productivity, efficiency or operational performance.
Deforestation is the loss or removal of a forest or clumps of trees on a very large scale and converting the resulting land for non-forest uses. Deforestation is becoming a global problem with extensive environmental and economic consequences.
Solar farms cover a large area of land, and hence they are commonly developed in rural areas. Thorough planning procedures are required to get approval for the construction of solar farms. Planning includes consideration of suitability of the site, relevant renewable energy targets and any impact on the locality.
The pursuit of clean energy to preserve the environment has become a necessity now. Non-renewable energy sources on the Earth are depleting at an alarming rate.
