LED Lighting Tiles for Home and Office Applications

Noted scientist and inventor Dr. Ed Sinofsky has pioneered a break-through application of LED technology that is designed to economically light up your home, office and life -- literally.

Sinofsky, with over 560 patents, has created ceiling tiles that use Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) in a revolutionary, patent-pending, lighting fixture that can save users thousands of dollars, while significantly benefiting the environment.

"For the first time, an LED ceiling tile bright enough for room illumination is available for a reasonable price," said Sinofsky. "We are thrilled to make this technology available to architects, builders and the public because widespread use could prevent millions of tons of CO2 (carbon dioxide) from spewing into our atmosphere." Carbon dioxide is a principal contributor to the greenhouse gases responsible for global warming.

LEDceilingtiles have a life expectancy of more than 50,000 hours, compared to 10,000 hours for a compact fluorescent light (CFL) and just 1,200 hours for an incandescent light bulb. An LED uses 40 percent less energy than an equivalent CFL and 90 percent less energy than consumed by an incandescent bulb.

LEDceilingtiles are thin (1.5 in), lightweight (5 lbs) and easy to install, with an expected payback within one year, depending on usage. They are designed to either plug into an existing outlet, or be hardwired to the building by an electrician. They are available for either a standard 2' x 2' hanging ceiling grid or suspended alone in an aluminum frame. An optional remote control dimmer allows users to create lighting to match their moods, while further increasing energy savings. LEDceilingtiles recently received its c(ETL) safety certification from Intertek, a well-known worldwide network of testing labs.

"LED technology is finally suitable for cost-effective room lighting," said Sinofsky. "LEDceilingtiles allow our customers to tailor their light usage to their needs, while saving money -- and helping to save the planet."
