SteriSan Signs Multimillion Pound Water Filtration and Sanitisation Deal

SteriSan Ltd, UK, has signed an exclusive five year agreement with WAL (S.A), the Swiss water filtration company. The order involves SteriSan’s, HypoTech company supplying an ecologically sound product for water sanitisation and purification worldwide.

The companies will develop WALSAFE ®and WALPURA®, based around HypoTech’s SterOxi offering. This revolutionary natural biocide kills all known life-threatening germs without harm to people or the planet.

WALSAFE is for individual use to decontaminate water: for instance when out trekking or in emergency situations such as in the current situations in Pakistan and Haiti. The solution is very easy to use and one cap of WALSAFE sterilises one litre of water.

WALPURA will be used in domestic jug water filters.

The agreement is for a minimum order of 13.5 million litres of SterOxi and will commence in November 2010.

Dan Spacie, Chief Executive Officer, SteriSan and HypoTech Ltd, said:
“We have developed a natural biocide that deters the use of chemicals and helps prevent illness. The ground-breaking technology enables waste and saline water to be effectively recycled into drinking water, bringing great relief to countries that struggle to access clean water sources”.

The multi-million pound contract allows WAL to remove pathogens from water safely, effectively, and in an environmentally-friendly way.
