China Ming Yang to Deliver Wind Turbines to Offshore Wind Project

China Ming Yang Wind Power Group, a wind turbine manufacturing company in China, declared that it has contracted a cooperation intention accord with an independent power producing company (IPP) based in China for supplying wind turbines for an offshore wind project.

Incidentally Ming Yang is one among the few accredited wind turbine producers from China, chosen to partner with potential offshore wind farm developers, who opt for wind power grants. The construction of the offshore wind farm is expected to commence after contracting the accord during the next year.

As per the terms of the contract, Ming Yang will supply 2.5/3.0MW SCD wind turbines for the 200 MW offshore wind project to be developed by IPP and located over the tidal free Beibu Gulf area of China. The cost of the project and other connected terms of project development are anticipated to be on the basis of concessions declared for the China 1GW Offshore Wind Farm in October 2010 under the guidance of National Energy Association of China.

Chuanwei Zhang, Ming Yang’s Chairman and CEO, said that the contracted accord reflects the importance of remaining an accredited wind turbine producer entitled to avail concessions for the 1 GW offshore wind farm. He added that the opportunity will allow the company to prove the potential of its SCD technology and its cost-efficient power generation capabilities.
