GreenerDocs.com Provides Ways to Reduce Paper Trail with Document Automation

Esker, the leader in document process automation solutions, announced today that it launched GreenerDocs.com, an online web portal providing valuable statistics about paper consumption and tips for how to reduce that amount of paper used, and misused, for business communications. The site targets organizations seeking ways to adopt socially responsible, green-focused initiatives.

GreenerDocs.com features an interactive Green ROI Calculator, designed to help businesses determine exactly how much paper their employees are consuming through order and invoice processing. The user enters information about the number of sales orders and invoices processed daily, the length of each document, and their daily volume of paper business correspondences. With that information, the calculator measures the number of trees, gallons of water, watts of electricity and pounds of CO2 saved by implementing more environmentally friendly document processes. With that information in hand, users can look to GreenerDocs.com to get a clear understanding of how their paper waste negatively impacts the environment.

Visitors of the site can also listen to valuable tips on how to eliminate paper use by downloading a free podcast linked on GreenerDocs.com.

The site builds upon Esker’s Quit Paper campaign, a campaign aimed at challenging today’s enterprises to reduce the unnecessary use of paper. Esker’s mission is to demonstrate that by quitting the paper addiction, companies will not only help the environment, but also lower operational costs, experience higher efficiency within order-to-cash and procure-to-pay cycles, and develop stronger relationships with customers and suppliers.

One Esker customer, Alcan Composites USA, has developed a corporate focus on green production and sustainability. “We’re looking for a way to reduce our footprint on the earth when manufacturing. Many companies are looking for ‘green’ products. However, most people focus too much on the product itself. When we look at sustainability we look at the whole picture &ndash all of the processes and operations that go into making the product. We aim to eliminate all of the back office paper waste and also the carbon footprint associated with transporting paper to our facilities and postal mail to our customers,” said Karel Drastich, Director Strategic Planning and Sustainability, Alcan Composites USA.

GreenerDocs.com also directs visitors to QuitPaper.com to confess their paper addictions by making the “Quit Paper Pledge.” To make the pledge, users must share their outrageous, true stories about how paper has affected their workplace.

“GreenerDocs.com is a comprehensive source of information for organizations that want to reduce their dependency on paper,” said Renee Thomas, Director of Field Marketing, Esker. “We draw upon our experience working with companies who were at one time overwhelmed with piles of paper and rows of file cabinets but after implementing document automation technology have transformed their workplace into a paperless environment. We hope that companies in similar situations will visit GreenerDocs.com to learn about how they too can get a handle on their paper processes by committing to greener business practices.”

Esker offers end-to-end document process automation software solutions and web services that enable organizations to receive and send business-critical documents, such as invoices and sales orders, regardless of source or format, directly into and out of ERP systems like SAP and other enterprise applications. Its technologies allow users to keep documents electronic throughout their entire lifecycle, eliminating the need for physical document handling. This results in saved time, reduced costs and improved accuracy.
