Reese Rive Geothermal Project Undertaken by Sierra Geothermal Power

Sierra Geothermal Power has completed a number of geothermal projects such as the Reese River project, Silver Peak project, Alum project and Tier 1. The Reese River project covers a total area of 25 square kilometers and is located in the Lander County in Nevada. The exact location of this project is 322 kilometers east of Reno and 43 kilometers north of Austin.

Reese Rive Geothermal Project

A total of 57 wells have been dug till date at the Reese River project, undertaken by Sierra Geothermal Power. These well differ in their depths, ranging from 100 meters to 1500 meters. The temperature in these wells has gone up to a maximum of 150 degree Celsius. A thermal anomaly, in the dimensions of 10 kilometers x 3 kilometers (length x width), has been detected in the northeast direction of the project. Sierra Geothermal Power has carried out a number of geophysical surveys for the collection of data. These surveys include gravity surveys, radiometric surveys, magnetotelluric surveys and seismic surveys.

A number of geochemical tests have also been undertaken by Sierra Geothermal Power on the various aspects of the area such as the soil, vegetation and rocks. Development stage planning was carried out at the Reese River project in 2008 by Sierra Geothermal Power.
