This wind farm power cable consists of a conductor, insulation, conductor shield, insulation shield, jacket and concentric neutral. The conductor shield of the EmPowr 35kV link underground distribution cable is cross linked. Both the conductor shield and insulation shield are semi conducting. The insulation, insulation shield and conductor shield are extruded over the aluminum conductor. The black extruded jacket and bare copper wires are applied over cable core. The EmPowr 35kV wind farm cable is triple extruded to provide clean interfaces. This wind farm cable offers low dielectric loss and high dielectric strength. The underground distribution cable provides good resistance to moisture and treeing.
The EmPowr 35kV link underground distribution cable is suitable for applications in both wet and dry locations, and for medium voltage single or three phase power distribution. The wind farm cable, supplied by WECS Electric Supply, can either be directly buried or installed in ducts. The power cable features dry nitrogen cure to improve the performance. The insulation temperature rating for the wind farm cable is 90 degrees Celsius for normal, 250 degrees Celsius for short circuit and 130 degrees Celsius for emergencies.
