ClearEdge Power Completes Installation of a Residential Fuel Power System

ClearEdge Power has announced the completion of its first ever fuel cell installation for residential usage. The ClearEdge5 Fuel cell installed at the residence of Jackie Autry at Coachella Valley provides both power and heat to her home.

The ClearEdge5 fuel cell is first of a kind that is formulated for residential usage and around 30 house owners from the Palm Springs area have bought the system.

The ClearEdge5 from ClearEdge Power supplies 5 kW mixed quantity of heat and power. The fuel cell that requires only 35 square feet for its installation and service utilizes a chemical process to continually change the natural gas into electric power and heat all through the day in all types of weather conditions. The robust system can be placed both in indoor or outdoor locations and its performance can be monitored through a normal IP connectivity. The fuel cell device is entitled for a financial incentive of $17,500, which includes federal tax credits and utility rebates.

The fuel cell system almost brings down the utility expenses by 50% and allows  home owners to recover their investment in a period of four to six years. In addition to allowing the owners savings on  costs, the system also reduces the carbon dioxide emissions by one-third. The system installed for Jackie Autry can be equated to planting of new trees over an area of six acres.
