Canadian Solar, global solar company, declared that it has completed the installation of a 106 kW roof-mounted solar PV system for McDonough Center at the Bancroft School in Worcester, Mass. The largest solar system in Worcester is set off to produce power before the commencement of the 2010 school year.
The new solar system incorporates Canadian Solar manufactured CS6P-230P polycrystalline solar PV modules for increased power production. The installation completed by Professional Electric incorporates 462 polycrystalline modules and is anticipated to generate around 117,000 kWh of clean energy every year. The power produced from the solar modules can be equated to offsetting around 88 tons carbon dioxide discharges or planting of 438 new trees every year. The power generated from the solar system is anticipated to meet around 25% of the annual power needs of the center. Future solar systems has designed and met the fund requirements of this solar installation.
Alan King, Canadian Solar USA’s vice president of U.S. Sales, expressed his happiness about the use of the solar panels manufactured by his company to meet the power requirement of a school, where students can learn the use of renewable energy. He added that the installation also notifies the growing investments in solar energy and the determined solar policies of the state.
