Duke Energy Joins ENN Group to Build Green-Cities

Duke Energy, a USA-based power holding company and ENN Group, a China-based clean energy solutions providing company, declared that they have entered into an accord to team up for the formulation of technologies that can assist in building green cities in the United States and China.

The signing of the accord coincided with the visit of Hu Jintao, President of China to the United States.

Currently, ENN is steadfast in the development of a first of its kind energy conscious eco-city in Langfang, near Beijing in China. Duke Energy will join ENN in the development of the eco-city and contribute to its expertise over the preparation of clean energy technologies. The signed accord allows the introduction of a Future Energy Technology Demonstration Platform, which will allow exchange of ideas between the companies on latest techniques and developments of technologies such as energy, construction and transportation. The companies are planning to construct the eco-city with a clean energy power generation infrastructure that can assist in energy saving and retrieval and facilities for the use of electric vehicles.

The current collaboration in speeding up the formulation of low-carbon discharging clean energy technologies is the follow-up of an earlier accord reached by the two companies, at the New York held Clinton Global Initiative in 2009. They have also signed an accord in October 2009 to develop commercial level solar projects in the United States.
