Cyclone Power Technologies and the Phoenix PowerGroup have provided power to Phoenix 10 by generating clean grid-tied power from the combustion of Used Motor oil.
The first small scale waste oil power generator was demonstrated in an event and with it the durability testing and full system performance testing has commenced. Phoenix 10 is an exclusive and matchless renewable energy system created mainly for the use of small businesses. Commercial production would commence later this year and would permit numerous automotive service centers to reutilize their used motor oil in a profitable yet environmentally friendly way. Cyclone’s WHE-25 engine powers the system and a combustion chamber specifically designed for clean burning the used motor oil is included. It also has a grid-tied generator, which helps to produce 10kW power to meet most of the facility’s electricity needs.
According to Thomas V. Thillen, Phoenix’s President, they were excited to witness the full system tests of the Phoenix 10 and stated that this renewable power generator would supply worldwide to the lube centers and garages, a direct revenue generation method utilizing their waste materials in a profitable manner. Records from the US Environmental Protection Agency reveal that waste oil that comes from one oil change would pollute one million gallons of fresh water. Thus instead of harming the water supply the users of motor oil could dispose their waste oil in an environmentally friendly way by utilizing the Phoenix 10. Tests carried out by a third party have revealed that the Phoenix 10 when run on used motor oil generates 50% NOx and 30% less SO2 when compared to other generators that run on diesel.
