SolarEdge Technologies Partners with Flextronics for Production of Distributed PV Power Harvesting Systems

Flextronics, a leading provider of electronics manufacturing services throughout the world, has been selected by SolarEdge Technologies, a solar power harvesting giant, to be its global manufacturing partner for mass production of SolarEdge Technologies’ distributed PV monitoring and power harvesting systems.

The two companies have been collaborating closely for six months to arrange dedicated manufacturing lines at Flextronics' production facility for the mass production of high-quality SolarEdge systems. The plant has started to manufacture the systems during the last quarter and an annual production of 200 MW is expected to be achieved.

CEO and co-founder of SolarEdge, Guy Sella, said the company is increasing its production capacity rapidly to meet the growing demands for its products in partnership with companies that are capable of meeting its high manufacturing standards. Guy Sella, who is also the chairman of SolarEdge, said that Flextronics has been providing high-quality production services for the solar industry throughout the world. This collaboration between the companies will result in better products that will help to increase the solar energy systems’ performance, Sella added.

President of Flextronics’ Industrial Market Segment, E.C. Sykes, said the company is delighted to be partnering with SolarEdge, which is leading the market to provide solar power production that is equal to grid parity. High-volume production of SolarEdge’s product is ready to begin, and the company is ready to make use of its logistics and production facilities in China, Hungary, and Mexico to provide support for the growth of SolarEdge.

SolarEdge provides a comprehensive PV power monitoring and harvesting technology for the Solar PV systems to improve its energy output. SolarEdge works with leading PV panel manufacturing companies such as Schott Solar, GE, Isofoton, HaWi Energitechnik, BP Solar, and Gehrlicher Solar to integrate its technology into PV panels to maximize their energy output by up to 25%. In addition, the technology also provides better monitoring and control of the PV panels with no additional costs.
